I have been driving a Tahoe since 2007 and it was way to big, so I sold it two weeks ago, and purchased a Hyundai Elantra with the money from selling my car.  It is small and I have to get used to driving a smaller car.  I am going to have to have a total knee replacement, my knee is gone and went to see the Ortho and he says I cannot wait any longer. I have been in so much pain I am walking with two canes.  I have only been able to knit because that does not need a lot of getting up and down.  And then when I had surgery in July, I injured both rotator cuffs from lifting myself enough to then stand and not use my stomach muscles. Boy I have been a mess, I cannot roll over in bed, nor lift either arm to turn off the light, and then I do not sleep all night because of the pain in my knee.  Okay enough of the pity party, no more on either subject.  I have several projects in mind to start working on and just need to finish gathering my threads. So hopefully I will have some new pictures soon.

This is a Hussif I made in a class with Gloria Mc Kinnon from Australia on one of her visits to the US. This class was where I learned to make a husif and I have made 7 of them. It is so much fun to chose the fabric and all the colors of thread to make them.  Embellishing the outside is almost as much fun as the inside.

This is the inside of the husif, where there is a spot for scissors, a tape measure, a thimble pocket a pincushion and a needle keeper.  This was all made in brazilian embroidery and  done by hand except for the quilting on the bottom piece.

This is my scrumbles bag, I knitted and crocheted pieces of every kind of figure and yarn and then sewed them onto a purse form. I love the colors and it was a lot of fun to make and surprisingly it did not take a long time to do it.

This painting of a ballerina was painted in oils about 20 years ago. I found a greeting card with this beautiful ballerina and so I painted her,  I love ballerina's and the graceful way they dance is beautiful. I never signed her could never figure out what  name I wanted to use.

This second ballerina was also done in oils but much more colorful than the one above, this one also was done about 20 years ago, this one also remains unsigned.

These are my Yorkies:  Max 9 yrs on left, Miki 8 yrs on right and Harlee 4 yrs old.  They make me laugh and give me lots of loving.
This is a silk picture that I embellished with silk ribbon and beads. I put it on the top of a sewing box that I made from a beautiful mahogony box used to keep silverware.
This is a needle case that I made and it has different kinds of needles.  Made with silk ribbon dyed lace and for the cover it is black velvet.
This morning at 4:00 am I was woken up with a huge jolt and realized we had an earthquake and it was centered in La Verne the town i live in.  Then about 4:20 am we had a second one 3.8 centered in Pomona a neighboring town. So at 4:30 am I am watching news to learn more.  Rude awakening, my Yorkies slept through it all.  Have had a little time to add gadgets to my blog and will keep posting new photos. This is a paper doll made with satin ribbon and embellished with ribbon and silk flowers.  Made this in a class with Arlene Baker who has a wonderful beading book with a lot of great projects.
